Getting past blocked networks
Both can get through networks that block VPNs. NordVPN uses obfuscated servers, which hide that you're using a VPN, and NordWhisper, which makes the connection look like ordinary web traffic. CosmoVPN has two such modes, CosmoGhost and CosmoShield, and Auto switches between them for you when one is blocked.
Privacy and logging
NordVPN says it doesn't log your browsing, IP addresses or DNS requests, and has had that checked by independent auditors several times (most recently Deloitte, 2025). CosmoVPN doesn't log the sites you visit, your DNS requests or the content of your traffic either; it keeps connection records (time, server, device) and hasn't been audited.
Free version
NordVPN has no free plan: new customers in some countries can try a 1- or 2-year plan free for 7 days (3 days on Android), and there is a 30-day money-back guarantee. CosmoVPN has a free version with no data cap that needs no account: each connection lasts 1 hour (then you connect again), with ads and fewer locations than Premium.
Apps and devices
NordVPN has apps for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS, Android TV, Fire TV and Apple TV, and allows 10 devices. CosmoVPN runs on Android, iPhone and iPad, Windows, macOS, Linux and Android TV; Premium covers 5 devices on one account.
